Re: All Stars 2026 Round 2/3 Final Knockout: Update
Game paused:
As a reminder, after a twelve hour slog to catch up the two token players in the lead I reached this point at 4 pm yesterday:
I played a few more episodes slowly after that and each time I played one episode Elias played about a few levels. I then went to bed thinking that it would be the same when I get up.
It was.
Here my leaderboard at 6 am this morning:
I am now pondering what to do. This will not stay the same of course. I expect that this leaderboard will move in the last 24 hours of the round. I think we might need a lead of one or two tokens to be safe.
As always my main worry is hitting the 10x button by mistake. So I will play sideways on the iPad, which is the safest method. That way the button is at the top right corner of my screen, too high for me to easily reach it.
My theory is this:
The speed with which we play our first two levels determines the speed of our leaderboard. The task score to reach is a certain number of tokens per day. I'm not sure if this is per day we are ourselves playing or the entire round, nor if our initial speed or other factors (test group, level range) determine the number of tokens the leaders will set. It's probably determined by whether we have played a token ourselves or crushed at high speed during the first two levels. Only players who can crush at a speed fast enough to catch up these leaders stand a chance to reach the target score set in this round. In my game this seems to be two episodes per hour. I think in previous rounds it was one episode per hour. When I crush at this rate the leaders keep up with me. So I have found it pointless crushing at a leisurely speed. This is why I've been "bored" during this competition: normal play is counter productive and pointless. I have found that not playing at all has been the best strategy in previous rounds, and I'm finding this again in this round.
So my strategy for the last 32 hours must be to speed crush my way into a lead big enough to then again sit back and wait for the end of the round. Well that is my plan for today.
Am I the really the only one here seeing such a pronounced VCR effect?
