Quick bit of good news I wanted to share.

We believe an issue that caused some rounds or events to end too early (for example dragons/sprinks not being collected before the end screen appeared) has now been fixed. The change is live in game version 1.317.

Hopefully this means things should behave as expected now, but I’d really appreciate a heads-up if you happen to see players still reporting things like:

• Dragons/Sprinks not being collected
• Rounds or events ending too soon
• End screens appearing before everything on the board has finished

If you are a long standing player of Candy Crush like me and find that you have hit a wall with level after level impossible to pass, then that is probably because you have hit a wall deliberately put in the game to make long standing players spend all their saved up gold bars and boosters.

The worst such wall is at the last two thousand levels of the game: Anyone who has made it this far and never spent any money on the game is a lost cause to King, not a valued customer. So they make it impossible to get to the end of the map for anyone who does not have a good stash of thousands of gold bars saved up. Anyone else will have to spend hundreds of real life dollars to keep playing.

These are my best tips from my own playing experiences.

Choose one of the following options:

• Forget about Candy Crush and have fun doing something else with your spare time

• Delete the app. Reinstall the app. Play a new game starting at level 1. You may find that the game has changed a lot since you played the early levels, and some of them are harder to pass than you might expect, so do check my tips here:

• If you enjoy the new game then great: Keep going and save the game using a different email or login method from your previous game.

• If instead you want to get back to your saved King account, you must not save this new game. Ignore the prompts to save your progress and play until you have made enough boosters and gold to help you back on your feet. You MUST turn your gold into boosters before logging into your existing account, since gold bars cannot be transferred, but boosters are stored on your device so will transfer. Buy boosters with any gold you have, using your inventory. Then use the "log in with email" option at the bottom of this screen to get back to your previously saved game with the boosters you earned in the new game:

• Other options are:

• Give the game a long break. I mean several weeks. If you are breaking for a long period two things are likely to happen: King will make that level range easier to pass generally. They will do this if too many players quit or are stuck at a certain level range. They also make the last 2000 levels of the game harder to pass than all other levels, so if you pause to fall back behind this wall you might find the game is more enjoyable again. King will give players a welcome back reward after they have been absent from the game for a long time. You might get a large number of extra moves to help and some boosters, for example.

• Take a definitive break from playing new levels but log in daily to collect boosters from the daily wheel, daily treat machine, use old levels to complete any event that still lets you gain boosters from replayed old levels. The old Season Pass works for this, though the new version does not. There are some chocolate boxes you can get boosters and gold from older levels if you choose the correct options. If you have ads there may be events like Sweet Cinema to give you boosters for watching ads. Don't be tempted to waste these on new levels for a few weeks, not until you have gathered a bucketful of boosters. Then try playing one new episode through using your saved up boosters to pass the trickiest levels. It should help you win the episode race gold and may help you back on a winning track. Try playing no more than one episode in 24 hours, as that seems to be the most efficient speed to stay afloat with boosters and gold
