Candy Crush is more about budgeting gold bars than about passing specific levels. Not every level can be passed within the five attempts the game gives you.

Level 220 is "hard". In my experience this means that half the players get easy boards and help from the game to pass, the other half get mostly impossible to pass boards. That is how the game works, so just because I managed to pass this level on my first attempt with no boosters just now, does not mean you will.

Here is my lucky board. I mostly followed the hinted moves and got to this:

On the board above the colour bomb + fish combo is a definite winning move.

What is important is that you win the episode races to earn more gold. If you finish an episode in one sitting you will automatically win the race. You may win the episode race if you play the episode in one day or perhaps even longer. The other players in the episode race are not real, so please ignore them.

Unfortunately you have probably already lost this episode race, so concentrate on winning the next one. If you have already lost the race try to spend as little gold as you can and replay the impossible levels patiently until you get lucky. It might be helpful to follow the first few suggested moves.

You still have 50 gold bars: This should be enough to earn enough gold to win an episode race.

If you are stuck on hard/super hard/nightmarishly hard/legendary level and get no luck for 5-10 attempts then you might need to pay 10 gold bars to get past the level. The game should by now offer you a lot of extra moves for 10 gold bars.

If you pay 10 gold now, then the game may hopefully make the rest of the episode easier for you. You should get the offer of the super charger and win streak. So making a one off payment of 10 gold bars may be a good idea here. You should also get events like Season Pass and the Chocolate box by now, which both give out starting boosters. You can scroll back to use easy old levels to get the boosters from these two events. The boosters should help pass level 220. Every player is able to get a UFO from Season Pass. Played at the right time (3 or 4 moves from the end if you are quite close) a UFO is a very good way to pass the hardest levels.

Once you have passed one new level the win streak will add one colour bomb to each opening board. The game often gives us timed colour bombs as well, such as from the Daily Treat Machine. Together this means the game might give you some help by placing the two colour bombs side by side, or it may start you off with a lucky colour bomb + wrapped, striped or fish combo. We are at the mercy of what the game gives us. King decide whether we get a chance to pass a level or not. But if you play your boosters and gold wisely you can still progress in the game and do well.

I note that on your screenshot you have no events on the map and there are no other players. This means that you are not connected to King's server. It is most important that you get your game connected to the server so that the game can actually give you the help needed to pass this level. Please close the app, check your internet connection and reload the app until you can see other player icons on the map screen and click on them. Play one level to make all the events appear. If you don't have connection you will not be able to play this game.

🔍 Testing something new

Some players may see a new scoring feature called Multiplier Tokens during the Candy Unwrapped tournament. This is a small test, so not everyone will have it.

If you do see it, you can activate a token to boost your points for a short time.
If you don’t have it, don’t worry, you will still compete normally.

@QueenB All I want for Christmas is for new players to have remotely similar starting experiences from game to game.

I agree with Christine, @シリンダーノット in that I believe that my levels seem easier to complete after the Express Delivery has appeared. More often than not I gain the offered boosters, so either the level must have been easier for me to complete it or maybe I just tried harder in order to gain the boosters.

As with most of King's features @M_SAAD_BILAL the Candy Unwrapped isn't available to every player.

Even if you have seen a Coming Soon message in your game this doesn't mean you will receive your Candy Unwrapped report.

We have been told that King is looking into the issue of people receiving the Coming Soon message when they aren't receiving the feature.
