Just a more sober point to update on my experience with the second chance rounds: This round has only one qualifying place and I am up against a player who plays tokens and seems to score 230 blue per level after taking the tokens into account. If this is the kind of opponents we will get in the final knockout rounds I doubt any of us can get to the last round with any of our tokens. I'm also suspicious this player is not real, i.e. not playing at the same time as myself as their pace seems off. I have the benefit of being able to test my own score over the same levels in Knockout round 2 since I have an account that will reach those levels (793 upwards) soon.

@jan126 The party popper still helps me pass levels but is does seem a little different now.

An update about of the second chance rounds. Part 2 is a gigantic step up from part 1 for me. I didn't do anything in between the two rounds, so all I can assume is that this part of the competition is NOT bespoke and all players are competing on equally hard boards. This is exactly what I witnessed in the first 2nd chance rounds as well and is documented in this thread. I almost wonder if tomorrow's first final knockout rounds will be easier than this round: At the moment the qualifying score is heading towards 80,000 (ignore me of course). That is quite a lot for a 24 h leaderboard.

I wonder if Marti is seeing me: Will Marti stop playing when they overtake Freddy or try to catch me?

All of these players are late additions to my leaderboard. I started off with 50 players initially but now there are 100!

My guess is these are late joiners who must have thought they'd have an easy ride to the final knockout rounds. But I very much doubt that any of them will have all of their tokens to take with them. I don't think they stand a chance against the players who took the regular route, which was far easier than this.

This leaderboard almost looks to me like a test run for final knockout round three.

To be honest, I'm kind of excited and currently in the process of working out my strategy for the remainder of All Stars.

If anyone hasn't seen my post about spending money, please read it because it contains vital information I don't want to repeat here.

This year we are all going blindly into these final knockout rounds because of the new multiplier tokens. So it makes it harder to decide on a strategy.

What's yours?

Some of the strategies that were recommended in previous years no longer work, so please be aware of this. Don't google it or ask ChatGPT! They don't know the answer because the app and the event have changed so much over the past twelve months.

Watch this space for an update once the round gets going: I will join early to spy on the round to see how many players are on each leaderboard and will let everyone know here.

Edit 27th March:

After myself playing for 24 hours now I'd say this round is playing in a similar manner to all the previous rounds.

If you want to hold on to your tokens don't be worried if you see players charge off using a token. They are likely to slow down or stop after they have used it. You will have time on Sunday and Monday to decide if you need to use any tokens to catch up. In the meantime try to play normally and see how close you can get without using a token.
