Here my update and to illustrate how I got first in the Juggernaut competition this morning.

Firstly I timed events I knew that would give me timed boosters to coincide with the sprint finish. My daily stamp, 6th day reward from ads (a timed UFO) was due Monday morning. Also with it being Monday I was due timed lollipop and timed paint brush from the weekly contest. The super charger makes a regular appearance and lasts for 24 hours. As I had not played Saturday and started the final within 24 hours of the end I also had the super charger for the sprint finish. This way my strategy for the sprint was:

1. Set the alarm to wake up two hours before the end
2. Use a super charger + stripe as my first move (using the paint brush). Then use the timed UFO or combos to finish off each level as quickly as possible

It's as simple as that, for the striped candy competition: The game gives us more striped candies in the cascades. The AI has simplified the algorithms to such a degree that the levels will practically self terminate if we start with some good combos. No thinking required. With the timed boosters I made a net profit of 500 gold, but it would have been just as easy to use boosters from the inventory with gold saved up.

I don't think the level range matters much, but for the record I was playing around level 1500.

Here the leaderboard in the evening after I caught up the leaders who appeared to have stopped playing. I played a little more to increase my lead after this before I went to bed.

I woke up three hours before the end, before the alarm went off.

Clearly some latecomers saw their chance and tried to overtake me. Ideal sprinting conditions.

I was faster than all of them with my strategy and most gave up along the way when they realised this. This is the final board:
