Match and Get! Green Candies 4/24/15 update

This bonus game is showing on my phone. I click it and see the description, then click sweet! And nothing happens. I am going into past levels and matching for green candies, but there is no indication that they are being tallied. Should there be some sort of counter? Or is there supposed to be a totally separate game for this challenge? I am on iPhone 4s and same thing is happening on hubby's iPhone 6. Any help appreciated!

I figured this out and am replying to my own post to help anyone else with this question. When you click on the Green candy picture on the map screen that is showing a timer count down - your greens are kept track of via the bar on the screen. Just play any levels you want to get greens and that meter will start filling up.

I don't understand..I see the bar that tells you how many hours are left. When I go into the game I see nothing! Also, do you have to get 2000 within the time left.. Or is it 2000 in a level?

Do the Greens have to be matched together in groups or can they be destroyed separately and still count?
