I was accumulating keys and now the game doesn't give them anymore. What is the key thing anyway?

In level 711 there are keys in the game. For a while when you got one, it would go into a jar that would accumulate. Now later today, they are not doing that. Does anyone know what this was for?

This was a new sort of promotion in the game from what I saw. I don't think everybody had it though, so maybe they are giving it to certain players to test and switching it around etc. But basically you had to collect a certain number of special candies and then you got some booster rewards like colorbombs etc.
