Not been able to receive any sent lives on iphone/ipad since early January.

No settings changed.  Turned off phone completely and restarted it.  Able to receive lives on desk top.

    I had the same thing, this is what I did and it fixed the problem for me!

    Go to your Facebook, then Settings, Apps, then delete the game by clicking on the X. You can also then clear the cache and cookies of your browser and reboot the computer. Start making fresh request from your iPhone/iPad and they should start appearing again!
