1179 doesn't follow the rules.

1179 is horrible. Boring and impossible. Finally I watched a tutorial. It showed 2 colorbombs together cleared the board and the fruit dropped. So I bought colorbombs. Then I bought a hammer to get them aligned, Exchanged them and the fruit did not clear and drop. Why?

As the method you describe makes the level trivial, I would imagine that steps have been taken to make it ineffective since the tutorial was created. Clearly it was not intended as a proper solution for the level. Levels are frequently amended when a weakness shows up.
