Why are special challenges disappearing before the time runs out and before completed?

When I open Candy Crush and there is a new challenge such as the treasure hunt or find the green candies (those are just two examples) I can play until I exit the game. When I come back just a few minutes later, they are gone. I am using Android Lollipop if that matters. Logging out and logging back in will start the challenge but as soon as I close the game no amount of logging in or out makes them return. I am really disappointed because it worked fine on my last device. It was part of the reason I loved candy crush and kept playing. Now I just want to find a new game to play that actually works.

No, no exclamation mark and completely gone from the inbox. The event shows up by logging out and then back in but when it disappears once, it never comes back. it seems that I can do events but only have one shot at it. Once my 5 lives are gone (+ whatever lives I have saved in the inbox ) the event is officially over for me.I don't think there is much you can do. I know the events run for a limited time but if its disappearing and reappearing, I have no idea. Do you still have them in the inbox (there should be a red exclamation mark in there)
