When I reach a treasure chest, it fails to open & I am unable to play. can you help?

In Candy Crush, I reach a level with a treasure chest & am unable to open the chest to receive the reward. I can't even play. The only solution I have found is to re-install the game which allows me to continue playing but of course I lose the treasure chest reward previously won!

I've seen people saying that closing down the app and reopening it afterwards helped them get their goodies and continue playing.
No need to delete and reinstall the app I guess, Anne.
