How does the frog work

How does the new frogcwork in CCSaga? Not sure what you o do not with it and don't want to waste it. After you use it what happens

Charge the frog by involving it in swaps or firing special candies through it. Once it's charged (a pulsing ring around it tells you) you can move it to any square on the board where it will destroy the 3 x 3 area around it. This returns the frog to the uncharged state ready for recharging.

That's good to know. I didn't know what to do with the frog. Could've finished that screen by now.
