Refreshing game on iPad

I just brought a new iPad and when I start the game back up, even a day later, it doesn't refresh as it did on my old iPad. It starts back up again from where I left it, even if in the middle of a game. I therefore don't get the bonuses as I should. Can you please suggest which settings I need to fix, either on my iPad or in the game to make this happen? It works correctly on both my phone and my old iPad, just not my new one.

From what I understand (I saw a mod post but I can't find it now) this is now the intended design of the app to save the game. So it's better now to go back to the map screen when you finish playing. 

This feature does not allow the bonus candies to refresh, though. It doesn't work that way on either my iPhone or my old iPad mini. It's only on my iPad.
