why does my candy crush app keep crashing?

I am having major issues with candy crush. I can't always open the app and when I do it nearly always crashes midway through a game. I've tried reinstalling the app, made sure that there are no updates pending and also tried playing offline but still the problem persists. This used to be my favourite game but if this carries on I won't be playing anymore!! Very frustrating!!

What model iPad are you playing on and what iOS version do you run on it?
