I tried to synchronize candy crush with Facebook and lost all of my progress! I was well above level 1500 and have been playing for years! Please help me get back to my level.

As long as you actively connected your game to either Facebook beforehand, your progress will be saved and synced to it. If you did, when you reconnect to that account in the game again, the progress from the point where it was last synced will come up. What level do you appear on if you open the game on Facebook directly?
