I recently finished Italy and when I clicked on the gold bar rewards, the reward did not add up.

I recently finished Italy and when I clicked on the gold bar rewards, the reward did not add up. Before I clicked on the reward I did take note that I have 32 gold bars, but after I click on the reward for 34(?) gold bars, the number of gold bar I have remains at 32. Please help to check this out.
