On ANY level that has a timer, my timer just stops and will never run out, can't advance!

My timer will only run when a candy is dropping.  This happens on EVERY level that has a timer.  Once the candy quits dropping/scroing, the timer just stops.  I can't advance because it will NEVER run out of time, it keeps adding every time a +5 is hit.  HELP!  I just want to move on to the next level, I'm on level 1694.
