Updated to new iPad, lost all 5–6yrs of boosters

Question

New iPad wouldn’t charge so went to apple and they said my Candy Crush Saga Level 1826 and Soda level 684 was running in background even when turned off overnight, so was told to delete games by apple but still connected to Facebook and games still on my iphone. Deleted and reinstalled and now lost all boosters from 5-6yrs saving. Didn’t lose level just boosters. Didn’t fix my iPad problem either. How can I get my boosters back?

Hi Karen, thank you for posting on King care.

I am sorry you had issues and lost your boosters. Especially as it didn't solve the issue! Its always advised to reinstall as updating can sometimes cause issues that are not cleared, or if a game loads up wrongly, then a fresh install rewrites it. A bit like when you have a problem with your iphone and you restore it.

I am not quite sure though what they meant because even if games were running in the background, for one thing if you close running apps it stops, (older versions with a home button you press home twice and swipe the app from the screen) and another, that would not stop something from charging. I don't work for apple, but have been around enough devices to know that. It can cause the battery to run down quicker though but it should still charge up again. And telling you to delete the apps if that was the issue, was only going to come back when you reinstall them. One thing I will add though is turn off background app refresh as that does use your battery and data at all times.

I would advise taking your ipad back to the place you bought it from if it is new as it will have a years guarantee from the supplier.

Unfortunately boosters work a little differently to progression.

Playing on the Facebook version you HAVE to be online, playing on devices they are designed to be online and offline. (although its a good idea to regularly connect so it saves progression) But if you were playing offline on your ipad you wouldn't be able to access your boosters. So the app version saves them to your ipads memory instead. That way you can access them anywhere. But unfortunately like all the game data, deleting it creates a fresh installation as though you have never played before. Logging into your account brings back your game levels as its saved on the server.

Were they all free earned boosters? If you bought any and saved them, that data will be on the server too meaning they could be restored but unfortunately not the free earned ones as they don't leave the same records. There are no limits to how many devices and free boosters you can earn on those devices for that reason, but they will stay on the one you earn them on.

I know we try to warn players they will lose boosters and unfortunately sometimes its the only thing that can be done but that is if its a game issue, not a device issue :(
