My candy crush was wiped out back to the beginning also with 5 lives!

Candy crush was wiped out and set back at start!I paid $40 for 8 lives always instead of five when I started playing over 4 years ago!Now I have only 5 lives and I'm on 1!This is unbelievable after the approx $500 more I've put in to this game over the years to get up to HIGH levels!!!How do I get my Candy Crush back?

You haven't mentioned if you are playing the game through Facebook or the Kingdom because they save your progress. Please write back to let me know how and also where you are playing the game - computer or mobile device?
