I play Candy Crush Saga on laptop and on Kindle. On level 3218 on my laptop, level 3217 on Kindle.

When I hit level 3218 on my Kindle, I got a message from King to the effect that more levels would be available shortly. That was 3 days ago. Still no new levels on my Kindle. DO NOT instruct me to delete and re-load because I have had to do that in the past and I lose all my boosters. I'd rather not play at all than lose everything. Please add more levels on my Kindle like there are on my laptop.

Hi Shelley, Candy Crush Saga updates a new episode every Wednesday morning. I am not sure if Kindle updates are the same. I am going to forward your question to our King Superstars and perhaps they know what's going on with Kindle.
And yes, you are very wise not to uninstall the game as you already found out! Leave the uninstalling until all troubleshooting methods don't work for you.
