Why do the keys turn white? Is this a glitch?

It happened to me last night too but only once.  Once you make a move on the board it turns into a color again.

Happened to me too, several times, can't remember the last time but may a week or two ago on different level. Right now it just happened and it is level 3522.

It happened to my game too last night.  I don't think this would be a priority for the studio because the white key does turn into a color within a couple of moves.

It happened to me on level 3506. I thought it was a special ghost key for Halloween. Turned out to be my connection. I was using public WiFi at a hospital and when I got home to my own WiFi, my ghost keys went away. Kind of disappointing because they flashed and changed to colors and not all keys on the board were white at the same time. I was googling to see how to use them!

This happens to me all the time. No rhyme or reason to it.  For months now.  Currently on level 3836.

Just saw for first time, level 724, Jan 2019. It's NOT my WiFi as I'm at home on a very secure system. Hubby is computerholic. Any other viewings of this mysterious White Key?

Been happening for a few months happening tonight on level 4004. Anyone know what it is yet - is there anything we can do with them? On lower levels I seem to remember that when this happened they could be used as any colour to get rid of them but I just tried this with one and nothing happened. and still
