Why cant i make fish

I've been playing along with my boyfriend and on his game he can put 4 candies together like a cube and it makes a fish, mine will not allow me to do this why? Also he gets boosters after his levels and I still not getting anything. It makes it impossible to win the extreme hard levels. I even updated my candy crush and I still can't make fish or get boosters. It's pissing me off. Do you know why? And how maybe to fix this issue I'm having .... Thanks

Hi Sherry, the fish are in the testing phase so only a small group of people are testing this out.  I haven't gotten it yet either.  Is he getting the boosters from clearing each level on the first try?  That's how you get those free boosters.  Each time you pass a level on the first try it will add a free booster in your next level.  After clearing a few levels on the first try the number of boosters increases.
