With the game update, I accept lives from friends, but don't know where to go to use them. None of the buttons seem to have such a function as before. Also don't we receive a daily bonus, only spin the wheel?

Hi Joan, Sometimes features are one one platform and other features on others. The daily spinning wheel should be on both computer and mobile devices.
At any given time you can only get a maximum of 5 lives in the red heart. Don't accept the lives until you are ready to add 5 more into the heart. By adding all of them they most probably just disappear because lives don't get stored anywhere.
I'm not sure if the daily calendar is still in the testing phase where players are randomly chosen to test it.
