Hearty Welcome to the Candy Crush Saga section of our friendly King Community!

I am guessing you are referring to the "Lives" which are stored at "Envelope" icon!!  If so, there could be few reasons why it is empty --  all the lives you have received might have expired and hence, disappeared!  Usually, the lives are stored for 7 days!

If it is mobile device -- along with above reason, reinstalling, rebooting, game crashing, etc., also can cause the Lives to disappear.
