Issue with using gold bars

Even though I currently have 28 gold bars, I am not able to spend them to obtain extra moves.  When I click on "play for 10" nothing happens.  I play on my PC, a Mac, via Facebook, and run on OS Sierra 10.12.6.

    This problem can occur if the Internet is disconnected during the game. You can refresh the page or restart the device and check. If the problem is the same, let me know.
