I've fought with this since Sept 14th and I'm tired of it. You fixed it for me yesterday, but since I stay off FB they are ruining Candy for many. FB will not connect to those friends again now.

Yes facebook is having some issues but as i heard not only to candy crush but other games also. So we cant say they are doing it for candy crush only.
However as suggested above by freddy some tips. You may also try to update or reinstall the facebook app and see if it helps you.

@TomBarber Hi and welcome, Is your game up to date and have you logged out and restarted your device, then logged back in as issue should be resolved.
If you have done the above steps try disconnecting from Facebook and then log out the game and restart your device. then connect to Facebook and then try logging into the game and see if this solves the issue, you could also try as above but with uninstalling Facebook and then reinstalling and reconnecting to Facebook
