Actually, it was introduced as part of the Christmas update to replace the Halloween themed Pumpkin Climb.
It's not my screenshot, btw.
It's possible that the event was removed during the Christmas event.

I haven't seen the Cotton Candy Climb either but that's most probably because I don't want to update my game because of the new sounds they've enforced on us. This said, is your game up-to-date? If so, what device are you playing on? Have you tried another device? What about logging off, restarting the game, then loggin in and making an older level to refresh your events? You should restart once more afterwards, btw.

Oh wow that is awesome. Mine was just the one timed lollipop booster. Strange how your icon in the first post only shows the free switch booster and not all of them. My prize showed a lollipop hammer, colour bomb, and lives.

@Johnny_Crush I won something similar to this yesterday as well. I won a half hour free use a lollipop hammer, half hour colour bomb and half hour infinite lives. I think it was through the Weely Race event that I won mine, but I couldn't say for sure.
It is not each booster for free your prize allows you to use the free switch booster once per game without you losing a free switch booster for a set time.
