I am able to play further games on another tablet but the one that is not progressing is saying further games will be added. any one know how to overcome this/

Is the game up-to-date on both devices?
What operating system does the problematic device have? I wouldn't advise you to reinstall the game, unless you have no boosters (or lives) to lose. In case it's an iOS device, you could back up the game first in order to keep your boosters.
