I think it would be cool if you had a way to chat directly with other players without the whole community deal. I think it's a no brainier, if you can accept someone as a friend, you should be able say to that friend "thank you very much for all the lives you sent me. I couldn't have done it without you"! Where's the love? We need love! Lots of love!
