Also tried three days and no chance what is this this candy in the last few months the leather gets harder and harder and if you don’t have a life you can’t forward
With regards to "Avatars" --> Is it something you have recently noticed or has it been like that from a long time?
If it is a recent change, there has been a glitch and many of my friends lost their Avatars and a random icon appeared in place of their avatars. Your friends also might be experiencing this glitch!!
If it is always like that, I agree with @christinewupp , not all players know or interested to "change" their profile icon until they reach certain milestone 🙂

Do you know at which levels your friends are in the game map? To share my point of view - if they are too far from you, they might not be able to send you any Lives.
Candy Crush Saga game does not have "Send Lives" feature anymore. So, we can only send lives to those friends who appear in the high score list (that appear in our current level).
I am close to 14,000 and I have only 9 friends in the highscore list!!. In fact, I have more than 60 friends that play Candy, but are below 2000 or so!! It is a hassle for me to scroll down to so many levels and send lives to all those friends!! May be your friends are n the same boat as I am🤔🤔
If you are playing in the earlier levels there are a lot of generic Avatars (player, spieler, speler, jugadore etc) about. The higher you get the more players save their game and replace the avatars with a photo. Some of my friends playing at levels above 13,000 have not replaced their avatars with photos, it's their choice. In the earlier levels King suggest friends to you by giving you extra 3 moves if you befriend someone. I find that those players aren't necessarily real, they may have stopped playing. It's better to try and make your own friends. You can do this by going into your profile in the game (your avatar or photo on the main screen), clicking on friends and then click on "add more friends" at the bottom. Then invite players that are roughly near your level. You can request lives and send lives here, too. You may be more successful if you send lots of lives first of all, and not request any. That player may be grateful and then so the same to you.
Why have I got lots of friends but only get sent lives of one person? IWhy are all of my contacts avatars but I'm not?
