Something wrong with the sound?

I use the candy crush app from the microsoft store on my laptop computer. Tonight when I open the app for the game the sound starts to distort. After a few seconds the sounds are unrecognizable. The distortion of sound carries over to my chrome browser as well, some how? When I close the candy crush app, the sound in the browser continues to sound distorted for about 10 seconds then goes back to normal. It's very strange. I thought it was my computer so I restarted and everything sounded fine until I opened the candy crush app.
