To answer your main question, the King team has disabled the games on King.com platform. Hence, it is not possible to play there!!
But, if you have an account in through Facebook, you can play the Browser version on a computer. Also, if you have a computer that has Windows 10 or 11, you can download the App through Microsoft store and play it there!
Like my friend Kiara mentioned, the "no connection" could be result of many things including a bug in the App!! If that is the case, the only remedy is to uninstall the App and reinstall it!! But, the downside to this action is, you will lose all your boosters!!
Please try other options - playing on your laptop either through Facebook browser version OR the App version. And, see how it goes!

As i am now getting a message that i am not connected i cannot log out - i have done a force quit and restarted my phone but no difference

I'm getting a new laptop and want to do a clean install of my games. If I do that, will I keep my progress in the games?
I have been having for several days with the Chocolate Box blocking my Candy Crush Game. It works for a couple of games and then freezes or it freezes as soon as I access the game. Do you know when this issue will be fixed? Is there anything I can do to fix it? It really is annoying.
Everytime I open the game it gets stuck on this screen. It doesn't show an "X" to close the screen, and the "change task" doesn't do anything either. Any ideas? I've restarted my phone, force stopped the app, still nothing. The only thing I haven't done is uninstall and reinstall.
