I've been playing Candy Crush for years and never had adverts in my games, until I started a new game a month ago. After 500 levels I still hadn't warmed up to this way of playing, being given a UFO at the end of any level I failed and having to watch boring adverts to keep my win streak, not fun for me, it just isn't suited to my playing style. I really wanted to get rid of them. But how?
So I thought: Let's test the rumours out! Can I get rid of those pesky adverts by spending money on a small offer? King deny there is such an algorithm. But there have been so many reports of players losing adverts after making a first purchase.... can it really be a coincidence?
So I decided Sunday afternoon to test out this theory
Initially I really thought it had worked!!! Just after I purchased the gold Season Pass yesterday when I closed and reopened the app, the offer to watch videos to get extra moves was gone! I was so pleased, but the next time I logged back into the game they were back. So experiment inconclusive.... for now. We'll see what the next update brings.
I could turn the internet off between starting and finishing the episode races, that way the ads would go. But what I really wanted is to be placed in a different test group. If the ads are part of the algorithm then my guess would be that the difficulty of the game takes this into account and the levels will need the extra moves and UFO to pass in this test group. So there isn't anything I can do, just go along with the game we are given. That's what I always tell everyone else after all......
