I rather like the speed up button. I've had it in my game since the end of last week. I tried it out and now I just play on the faster speed.

That would be the new Speed Up feature that is currently being tested that looks like this:

Ya it is fast play. It is not that noticeable until you get long sets of matches then it is really obvious.

Those arrows indicate the “speed” buttons. It is a test feature, at is available for only few players🤩
By clicking on those arrows, you can either reduce or increase the speed of the candies falling on the board, etc.,
