I keep receiving/winning what looks like a jack. Does anyone know what it is and how it's used?
Unfortunately some players do not get the event to use the season mastery tokens! You are probably one of them. So you won't be able to use them.

That Gold things are "Season Mastery" points, and if there is a digit next to that Gold thing, that shows how many points you are about to collect when you finish that specific event.
You will receive these points whenever you play and finish some special events. The more points you collect, the better rewards you receive by opening the treasure boxes. You can reach to the Gold Treasure chest🤩
