Actually is not the million dollar for one single player, its around 250k and the rest is given between the rest of the finalists (those to go to the finals in California).
Given the experience of last year, only consider the prize if you have enough money to bet in items that would allow you to get quick purple gems. I reached the first semifinal but I had spent all my gold bars, items, power ups and what I had saved in 3 or 4 years of continuous game, apart of 200 dollars in extra gold bars for me and my wife.
If you are not wanting to spent any money be happy to pass in the first rounds and getting the digital prizes… but do not expect to much to reach the pot, at least, as happen in lottery, you decide to spend your money
