I got through as well. I joined late to keep myself occupied while watching TV into the early hours during election night. It was harder than I had expected. There was some tough opposition, but three episodes were enough to clinch third and qualify.

I started late as well, and ended up in a competitive group with four contenders fighting for three spots.

Being first didn't get me any party poppers, just some timed boosters.

I also qualified in my other game, in which I started playing on Wednesday evening. Again, I played 3 episodes, but that group was much easier to beat. I played three episodes and then just stayed at the top not doing anything else.

By the way, what happened to awarding season mastery token for winning? I don't see any events for these token in m y game now.

Manage to survive the 1st Knockouts. Not sure if I want to compete in the 2nd Knockouts if there are strong opponents. One top player looks like created a new account to participate in this Candy Cup.

Interesting. Somehow, I tend to get an easier group when I start leaderboards in the evening. Next time, I think I'll try that.
