I have been playing the game for years. Now I find myself stuck on a level for 2/3 weeks. It’s not fun anymore. Can we have the old game back please?

Totally agree with your point of view ! It's totally ridiculous what candy crush is doing right now. I have been stuck as well for many weeks now so ..... candy give us back our old game of playing !
something is different the last few days for sure. you have to pay gold bars to pass almost every level.
Geez, some of you have been playing for years?!? I started Feb 2023 & got to 9500ish ... then Treasure Hunt disappeared (after spending $0.99) & with no gold bars I was toast, I quit last April.
Bored & missing CC, I started over late April ... 3 months ago & I'm now almost at 4000 with 500 gold bars, haven't lost an episode race since I started. Hoarding your gold bars is key.

@Brashbeauty You state you have been left with "one square left more times than you can count". Yes, that is the new Candy Crush. You have to collect lollipop hammers from events (they can be collected for free in Season Pass, daily spin and some other events that can be played using old levels), and keep them to use on these levels. That is now engrained into the level design and the way the game is meant to be played. It has changed from how the game was years ago. We need to change our strategy along with the way the game has changed, or quit playing. Those are the two choices we have.
11686 and I have played for over 12 years but since the adverts have gone I have nothing to aid me. It’s not just being stuck on this level for 3 weeks now. I was stuck on the last level for two weeks and it’s just not fun anymore!! I have I have international players that I have played with for years and they are not doing very well either and some have given up! I’m at the point of giving up myself as I have been down to just one square left more times than I can count now.
I did theorise whether the game became harder because of the Candy Cup. This is a fair theory, and if it is true then you might expect the game to improve again next week, so hold out til then, folks! Check out this thread:

I've been playing for years and years! All of a sudden this month, july, almost anything that would get you free boosters or the daily boost, and several other things that were available have all disappeared!!! Prices went up on common items. It's suddenly extremely hard just to be a level not considered hard. So basically anything that would help you in the game has been taken away to force you to spend money which I'm no longer going to do!
I’m almost to level 17,000. 90% of the levels now require 10 gold bars and like 60 extra moves. It’s insane because now they took the speed button away. I refuse to spend another red cent until the game is restored. I’m sure their revenue loss over the last few days is speaking for itself. 🤷🏽♀️
Hello i did pass level 11000 and do have only 5 pieces of gold and yes i am not going to buy anything but i am stuck for a lot of days now. I don't get any ads or other things which can help me. Very frustrating and if this continues i stop playing this first nice game and now it's not anymore !
Hello @Lyric543 and welcome to the community. Those candy cane bars are not new, they have been in the game for well over a year, probably two. New elements like these only get introduced to the game in the later levels in order to keep the game interesting and make levels harder to crack. Personally I don't mind them at all. Whichever blockers the game gives you, there is always a strategy to pass, it may just be a different strategy from the one you are used to.
Yes, @Brashbeauty the game has changed beyond recognition from the old game we used to love. There is no way forward now unless you play boosters, as the legendary and nightmarish boards will hold you up (no more lucky boards to allow you to pass easily once you've been stuck for a day or two). So we have to adjust our strategy. Mine is to collect and hoard gold, taking advantage of the events the game gives me so I can pay my way out of those impossible levels where only 10 gold will get you out. Winning the episode races is a must. If you play an episode in 24 hours you will win it, if you take longer you probably will lose. If you find the levels are too hard to do this, or if you find you spend more gold per episode than you earn from it, then don't start playing the episode but wait until King make the game easier again, which they will once too many players drop out or get stuck. If you are past level 10,000 and have no gold left then there is not much I can advise at all except this: If it's not fun, don't spend money on it. If it's not fun anymore, then try a different game or activity. The old game won't come back.
Greetings @Brashbeauty! When I have been stuck on a level I leave that level alone for a few days and play old levels if I want to play. Also, when I play like yesterday and find that the game is being kind to me and giving me good starting boards I keep playing. Another tip is I really use powerful boosters nearer the end of the game. Also with fish, I like to use them nearer the end of the game or when I see an opportunity to make strategic plan. Sometimes it doesn't take a lot of boosters to make a plan.
Most important do not waste boosters and gold when you see that it is impossible to pass.
I don’t like those new candy cane, strike bars they make it very hard to play the game stuck for a long time starting not to be any fun. Get rid of the candy cane striped bars to keep you from moving through them. They are annoying.
