The weekly race should be with other people in the same level as you. It is difficult to win when someone is at level 500 and can go through those so quickly while you’re at 12,000 which are more challenging. You have less moves more challenges, etc..
My suggestion is to program it to where everyone in the same levels or close to that level being in the same weekly race
