Been on this level for half a year now and still can’t get 3 stars (I’m a perfectionist). Has anyone been able to get 3 stars?

I have three stars on 958, but there is no guarantee that King hasn't changed the level since I played it. I'm like you. I will go through a round of old levels and replay any that don't have sugar stars. I'd let you know my score, but that is another thing King has taken away. I used to try and beat my old scores. You may just need to give it a rest, play some different levels, and come back to it later.
If you have tried for this long and not achieved 3 stars, has it not occurred to you that maybe the level does not allow anyone to get three stars? King change the algorithms regularly but I very much doubt they will bother to make sure that 3 stars are always a possible outcome. Few players care about that. It's all very well being a perfectionist, but the game is rigged, the candies don't fall in a random manner but according to how the algorithms are written, so what's not possible can't be done. That has nothing to do with perfectionism. Candy Crush is far from perfect!
