What the OP was trying at I think that since IRL their friends play too so the OP was suggesting to have a chat feature in there. My comment was to give one reason as to why there wasn’t one in the first place. You’re correct to say that the game doesn’t need a chat feature to work. I also wholeheartedly agree that perfect strangers don’t need to be bothered by using a chat feature. Some players may only play a few hours a day so chatting may be a distraction.
Because the game doesn't need a chat function to work. Candy Crush is essentially a single player game, so doesn't require chat.
People in your game aren't your friends, so there is no need for strangers to be able to contact/harass other people unnecessarily
One possible reason why we didn’t have a chat feature is that in older versions there were levels that were timed. Say finish the board with a certain score in say 60,000 in a time of 1 minute and 30 seconds. If chat was around it would have distracted the player from completing the task if chat popped up at that time
