Candy Crush Saga - Pay-to-play Rant

I am discouraged. This game that I enjoy and have been playing since 2014 has evolved into pay-to-play. I used to win episode races frequently but now, I can't even come close. I often finish episode races in last or fourth place. I am currently trying to beat level 17,019. I've got one gold bar which is basically useless. To their credit, King has added some features to get additional boosters. However, King has not introduced any ways to add gold bars without purchasing them. I have to play some levels 10, 20, or more times to beat the level, and it's just dumb luck if I beat it. I am pretty much to the point of not wanting to continue. One thing for sure, King must be raking in tons of money on CCS to afford the advertising. Seeing their ads on TV frequently. Does anyone have any suggestions of other fun games to play? Thanks.
