To skip or not to skip

I've heard different advice on this subject but heading into All Stars it's important to know the truth. When you complete a level and it gives you the option to skip rather than wait for all the remaining moves to play out should you skip to move forward faster? I've been told that the skipped candy will still count but it doesn't seem logical so i always wait and let it play out. Thoughts?

It appears clear from the credit of candies to side events (I see it with the chocolate box all the time) that skipping still credits the candies that are skipped. I believe what happens is that the software internally processes the finish the same as it would if it displayed it, but it just doesn't render it to the screen. The fact is that the software required to figure out what happens can run VERY fast, hundreds of times faster than the update of the screen can happen. So skipping really doesn't make a difference in your score, and it does allow you to move ahead faster. I believe it is noticeably better to skip always as soon as possible in an event like All Stars.
