Why I think ads are overrated

Playing the Summer Candy Cup final I got really annoyed by the game wanting me to watch two ads at the end of each episode for an extra 5 gold bars. I just don't have the time to waste while in a competition. I only got 30 gold bars for the champions race in this account, plus five more to make it 35 from watching ads. I know that in my other account after I switched off ads I got 40 gold for the champions race. Time to test if players without ads get a better test group.

So yesterday afternoon I did my usual test: Make a single purchase for 99p. Guess what happened this morning?

It's interesting that someone has added to this thread though I do not understand the comment.

Out of interest though, I have today had the same old problem in yet another new game that has got ads: The episode race has been downgraded to 20 gold, with the need to watch two ads now for 10 more gold bars. Also I had an impressive episode race win streak which disappeared overnight because of this change! (I never lost a single race, so please be careful if you are looking to gain an episode race community badge!).

I am tempted to try it all again and test out if I get an upgrade to 40 gold per champions race again like last time, but I'll stick with the ads for now. I quite like the timed UFO offer after six days.

This is the quickest I've ever seen ads disappear! Twelve hours after my purchase they've gone! Yeah!

No more nagging to watch ads for an extra 5 gold bars.

And now the champions race pays out 40 gold!!!! So by removing ads I've made a net gain of 5 gold and have saved myself some time.

Just saying….
