Hello chrisod, lives are a funny issue. On the face of it the process seems simple, you send a life the person receives it and all being well you receive a life back. Alternatively you might send a life and then request a life.
Unfortunately the process doesn't seem to work as we all think it should and only King can tell us if there is a problem or they have yet again changed the system without providing any details to their customers.
You say you always send lives, but do you request lives as well? When King removed the Send Lives button that used to appear at the bottom of a level this upset a lot of people as you now have to send lives one at a time. People now find it easier to only give lives to those people that request them, so if you don't request lives you might not receive any no matter how many lives you send
It is important to note that just because you send lives it doesn't mean that the person you send them to is receiving them. It is unfortunately the same case with requests for lives as well.
In my game I now only receive one to three life requests a day whereas I used to receive over twenty requests a day. This reduction in life requests is the reason I think King has a problem with the life process, or they have deliberately reduced the number of lives sent/received.

I am sorry to hear that you are not receiving lives in your game!
Do you already have 200/200 lives? I have noticed that if our envelope is full, then, we will not receive anymore lives, but only requests!!
If the lives count you have is nowhere near 200, and still not receiving lives, the only suggestion I would give for you is to make friends with more players - that you see on your game map, from the friend requests you receive, etc., While accepting the friend requests, make sure that they do send lives😉
