You do not need to verify any email to log into your Candy Crush account. If you see this screen:
which of the options do you use? If you have just created a community account this is NOT a King account but for this community only, those accounts are separate. So if you just downloaded the app and want to start to play use the "sign up with email" option and it should allow you to create an account. If you have played King games before then the game will not accept any email you have already used to create a King account and you will then have to use the bottom option "Already have a King account", but the login details for this are NOT the same as those of this community account.
To create a community account yes you do get a confirmation email, but if this system was broken then you got here anyway, because we can read your post, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Same issue. The verification email for my king account just never arrives, and yes, my email is correct!
When I also try to log into Candy Crush, the game says my email/password not correct (It is!) presumably because I can't verify my email
Also, why does the game not have the option to link in your Google account from the Play Store, like most games?

level 2657. You need to break 105 tiles and drop a few characters to win in 19 moves. Now I’ve previously reached over level 10,000 and don’t remember having to buy gold to extend play time to pass levels. Looks like my CC days are numbered unlike the goes on level 2657.
