I started the knockout round of the Palooza event yesterday when there were about 38 hours left to go in the round. And I have to now throw this out there:
Are we playing against real people or are these recordings?
I have found the behaviour of my competitors very unusual. In the first three hours there were several players scoring faster than myself. Now you all know I'm a fast scorer, and I did play to make stripes using my best strategy. I was being overtaken and could not keep up.
I looked at the player cards and most of my opponents were from Asia. This in itself is odd, since the time there would have been the middle of the night.
Now it is 6 or 7pm in these countries and none of the leaders on my board have played for 16 hours seemingly waiting for me to make a move. If this was just one player I would suggest say it's strategy. But all of them?
By the way, there are 15 players on this leaderboard, as compared to 10 on leaderboards for players who started the round promptly. I wonder if late entries are being given recordings and that some of the opponents are not real. (similar to the weekly contest maybe)
Any thoughts?
Here the leaderboards: After about one or two hours, one hour later, and now.
As I said, if it was just one or two players who stopped competing I would say nothing of it. But all of six of them?
