Wondering why when I click on "start race" the race is already over and I am last (#5)?

This has been an issue for the last 2 weekly releases. Iām currently on level 20008 in episode 2 of the latest release. There is no sign of the race or the chequered flag on my map.
This basically means I have no chance of winning the episode.
Can this be looked into please ?

I can confirm that I was also unable to join the race despite passing levels on the way
@QueenB Are we just accepting this is a fault that cannot be fixed ? If so, not much incentive to win the race
This may be a problem/glitch that has been reported previously by some players in this community. We have seen other posts in the past of players whose races are over the moment they join the episode race. Sadly there was never any remedy found for players who experience this error in their games. We used to send them to Player Support but to the best of our knowledge even there it was impossible to help anyone reverse this error. Here some posts that I am referring to:

Hello again @grandmahas6. Thanks for the additional information you provided.
In my experience, the episode race does not begin until after the first level in an episode is won. Then you should get the opportunity to acknowledge that you are ready to start the episode race. Your opponents in the race will already be identified, so it is reasonable that they have chosen to begin the race immediately. If the other 4 players pass the 2nd level in the episode before you, you will be in 5th place. The good news is, depending on your speed of playing, you could pass the other 4 players and win the episode. Admittedly, this is difficult since you are already at a very high level in the game.
Regarding the Weekly Race, we have had many players echo your concern and speculate how the algorithms work. This can be quite frustrating.
On a more positive note, I encourage you to visit the "Contests" section of this forum. Tapping on the "Contests" button at the top of this page will open a list of current contests which offer opportunities for gold bars in your game and unique badges for your Community profile. You will also see hyperlinks near the top of the page for each of the milestone badges. By posting a screenshot of your game map for each of the milestones you have reached (1K-10K), you will receive the associated badge. I'll look forward to your posts!
I was referring to the episode race. Can't screen shot because I started playing. Was also going to ask about weekly. Why do I race against players that are just getting started? I'm on level 15309 but play against levels 74, 96, etc.

Ads that start with scrolling green line across bottom and green OPEN rectangle "crash" most of the time. Only the green line ones have problem. Problem: ad plays, x appears top right corner. Click x , supposed to exit or go to next page of ad. Usually goes to ad's web page. When you try to return to candy crush , it stuckā¦
