Sugar Stars were introduced since level 36 BEFORE. Therefore if a player has already got them, they would not be taken away, but you can’t get them now at the beginner levels even though you passed those levels with many remaining moves. The Sugar Stars and Golden Pins have been moved to around level 200 at this moment, so I said you can make most levels to Sugar Stars not every level. You can use gold bars to buy 5 extra moves and then use boosters to pass a replay level to earn Sugar Stars if you want to 😆

Sugar Crush is an explosion to all candies on board if you use your last move to pass a level.

That's nice to hear @CandyCrushGangstaBoi . However I really don't have any opinion on this since I never paid any attention to sugar stars. They never made any impact on my strategy or play style.

Thanks so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. Apparently there is a meaning to Sugar Stars see another comment in this thread, I have tested their reply out and it tracks out. Let me know your opinion this as I always read your threads and would love to hear what you think.

Thanks so much for your reply, I have only just seen this. I know about each star being related to a certain score and sugar stars requiring double the 3-star score in the past as I have been an on-again off-again player for a long while.

I cannot believe that I did not notice before your comment the colour of and the animations at the level progress bar during playing the game this year. I am satisfied as it is clearly evident now that your reply checks out with the game. As well not seeing the colour of the progress bar on the first try differing to further attempts and the animation when completing a level on a further attempt with 5 moves remaining, I also think that seeing barely anybody talking about this (as I have searched older posts in the forum for weeks on end with nothing found) was the reason I was not aware of this. So thank you so much for that!

However something that confuses me (not relating to your reply) is that I have achieved some levels with gold pin but not received sugar stars. I have definitely played these levels in 2025 as I had to start again from level 1 due to loss of progress from playing a while back, and these are not levels pre-level 50 of which sugar stars are not awarded at all (I presume, as I have not got any sugar stars on any levels pre-50). So obviously the levels with the gold pin and sugar stars make sense, and the normal pins with both sugar stars and normal stars make sense but I have got some levels with gold pins but not sugar stars and I am wondering if this is an error or something as most levels check out with your statement (of which I believe to be true). I am just confused why some appear this way, without sugar stars.

Also since it’s obvious you know what you are talking about, what’s your opinion on ‘Sugar Crush’ at the end of levels. I like it and find it satisfying to watch even though I skip it most of the time but I do not understand why it is still used when scores have been de-emphasised, as Sugar Crush was used to increase the score with players’ remaining moves. This is just not relevant anymore.

NOW when you pass a new level on your first attempt, you will get them. Golden pin must have sugar stars.

If you can't pass a level on your first attempt, you can still get the sugar stars by passing the level with 5 or more remaining moves.

By the way, stars are related to how many scores you get from the level BEFORE, so a level you can get one, two or three stars. NOW the stars represent the progress inside a level 😂, therefore a passed level must have 3 stars😂🤣.

If you re-play the old levels without sugar stars, one star, two stars or three stars, and passing them with 5 or more remaining moves, you can make most levels to sugar stars.👍

I struggle to answer this since I have never paid any attention to sugar stars in my games. However I remember someone in this community mention recently that any level we pass now automatically awards sugar stars. I can't recall where I read it though and have not tested it out, but if it is true then sugar stars now mean nothing.

The criteria for Sugar Stars used to be double the score required for three stars. I guess that this is still the case.
