Has anyone noticed that candy spawning luck is just… different during an Express Delivery attempt? I noticed a very stark contrast of "luck" in my recent completion of level 2,990.
This is level 2,990. The striped candy, wrapped candy, and color bomb were from my ongoing timed boosters:
Attempts 1 and 2: The randomizer gave me cascades that produced tons of special candies in convenient places. Wrapped + wrapped combinations did tons of damage to the cake bombs and the surrounding icing layers. I came close to winning, but I had no ads, so I failed both times.
Attempt 3: It played out just like the first two attempts, but I was offered ads after running out of moves. In order, the rewards were +2 moves, +1 move, and +4 moves with a color bomb. I went to watch the last ad, but it glitched and sent me back to the level. I only had 3 moves, and I could not win.
Attempt 4: Express Delivery! Cascades almost never happened. I barely made a dent in the icing. The cake bomb never went off. I ran out of moves, and the 35 moves that the game offered certainly were not enough, so I decided to lose a life. Even if I had 100 moves from the beginning, I probably would have failed.
Attempt 5: My cascade "luck" was identical to that of my first three attempts. The constant explosions were back, and I destroyed the cake bomb in record time. The nearby icing was almost completely gone at that point, so I was able to finish the level with 7 moves remaining. Victory!
It's interesting to see how the "luck" factor changes so drastically at times. No wonder levels usually seem way harder for me during Express Delivery attempts. I suspect that it messes with the randomizer. At least this minor misadventure had a happy ending!
